the trick to being good at creative writing is being unselfconscious enough that you can actually say something genuine while not being so unselfconscious that you forget that other people have to read what you write

@prophet_goddess Another good way to hone your skills at creative writing is to not write things meant for other people to read, which gives you free reign to fuck around

@witchfynder_finder i honestly don't know how useful this is. i'm a firm believer in publishing as often as possible. actually releasing things is a skill, and it's one of the hardest ones

Iunno, I did a lot of just scribbling in notebooks as a kid and it seems to have worked well enough for me but that largely is my own self-confidence speaking =P
